Sunday Morning Session

Joe coming out of a barrel. Sorry photo is after the barrel.

Taro racing the section.

Taro surfed my 5' 9 Quad

Narumi

Some guy going to get barrelled.
Sunday morning after the barbecue we were greeted with some nice waves. And no one had a hangover. First time the conditions were good for Taro, Narumi, Joe, and I scored some nice waves.

Style Points

Pushing Mia into some waves at Bellows beach in Waimanalo.

Great Aloha Run

I did it! I didn't know what to expect so it was an experience for me. You wake up at 3:00 am and drive to the Aloha Stadium. At 4 am, buses take you to a deserted dark downtown. There you wait in the dark for over 2 hours with 27,000 runners for a 7 am start. And then you run or walk 8.15 miles back to the stadium. I finished 7185 place out of 19210 runners. My time was 1hour and 38 minutes which was about 12 minute miles (5miles per hour?). Scratch this off the New Year's Resolution.

Ono-san!

This is Onozuka san. I remember meeting him a long time ago in the water at Kewalo's. Soon after that, we met again through a mutual friend in Hawaii. This year Ono-san ordered 2 surfboards on his annual trip to Hawaii. Thankyou for letting me shape your boards! On his last day of his vacation we were able to surf together. He was ripping, surfing better than me at my own homebreak! So stoked when I see good surfing on my boards. Mahalo, and see you in Japan!

Midday traffic

Smoke up ahead.

Looks like a tour bus engine caught on fire! I almost missed the shot.

You have to see this!

Its called The Hangover and its one of the funniest movies that I have seen. And I hope that they have this movie subtitled or dubbed for all my Japanese friends. Go and see it NOW!

We spent Sunday afternoon at the Turtle Bay Resort. The waves were very bad, but the atmosphere was very good.

After Hours

The Hundreds in the Hands. This is the duo's band name. I never heard of them before, but they were unreal, sort of like Lush and the Sundays. Google their name because they were really good.

Plan B training facility: Ryan Sheckler doing some sort of flip thing.

The Plan B team had a demo after dinner. Ryan Sheckler shown here, Tory Pudwill, PJ Ladd, Colin McKay, and Danny Way signed every deck and took photos with every person that wanted one. They were very appreciative and genuinely stoked to do this for us.

Work Station

Chad Muska Element art series

Finished art

This girl Brooke was one of the first Element Eden artist.
Where we got some work done, outside under sunny skies. Lunch was served daily in the beach buckets. Don't let the cheap container fool you, it was gourmet sandwiches and wraps with all the fixins.
Billabong and its brands Element, Von Zipper sunglasses, RVCA, DaKine, Plan B Skateboards,
Xcel Wetsuits, Sector 9 Skateboards, and Nixon Watches held a mini show at the Laguna Sands Hotel.

Laguna Beach California

I went to work in California for a few days and this is what I saw. Laguna Beach in California is one beautiful place. The weather was perfect sunny during the day and chilly at night, just enough to tell you that you weren't in Hawaii.

Vitamin C

This is the last of our oranges for another 6 months or so. Semi sweet and juicier than our first batch last year.

Whats for dinner?

Fish is for dinner.

Small Surf

Small surf is better than no surf. If there's whitewater, then its rideable. Small session with John and Brian. Get in, get out and ready to start the day.

Weathering a Storm

Last weekend, the day started off sunny, but took a turn for the worse when the south winds brought the rain. We were already at the swimming pool, so instead of heading for shelter, we headed for the jacuzzi.

Aloha, Aloha, Aloha Tower

I went over to the Aloha Tower Marketplace for some business. I was surprised at all the shops they have there. There were alot of Hawaiian souveniers. Alot of tourist come here from the cruise ships that dock at the nearby pier.
