The tide was low, but the sand was deep

This happens alot at this beach. For some reason people think that any truck or suv can drive through the sand. You need 4 X 4 wheel drive to make it here. I've had to help a bunch of people dig, lift, and push their cars out of the sand.

Home Break

What are you gonna do when you have one hour to surf? This spot is only 5 minutes from my house. The whole southshore was all pretty and glassy, but I had no time. Actually I had 2 hours to surf, but only could handle one hour out here. Double ups, windy, choppy, and current taking you out to the Molokai channel. At least I was the only guy out and didn't have to share waves. (Hoped that there would be some company). Better luck next time. I hope everyone else scored! I'll get mine next swell.

South Swell!

I told you China Walls was going to look like that retro photo soon.
A nice 4-6 ft south swell hit over the weekend. I think there were waves everywhere.

Ron's pics

Ron Wong

Latest addition to the Grace Surf Hawaii team is 21 year old Ron Wong. Don't mind the logos in his photos, its all gonna change soon. We are working on an all around quiver to take him all around the island and all over the waves. The bruddah loves round nose fishes, but don't think he just wants to cruise in the mush. He puts a 5' 7 fish in ridiculous places.

Mia Girl's Day

Just got these pictures from Mia's Rainbow School teacher. Rainbow school is an all Japanese language school that they have on Saturdays. So after her usual Monday thru Friday elementary school she goes to school all day Saturday as well. I think it will be worth it in the long run though. Hopefully it will give her some skills for life.

China Walls 1950's?

My friend Brian sent me this photo of Portlock in Hawaii Kai before the million dollar mansions. The wave is still here, but you just can't see it with all homes and walls in the way. I guess that keeps some of the crowds down. But on any big south swell, this is what you get. Hopefully it will be breaking soon.

Grace Surfboards

Here is some of the range that I have been shaping. From regular shortboards, modern fish, to retro type discs, got the small to medium wave range covered. Look at my airbrush sample drawing and see the finished product. Thats why you have a professional to get the job done. Thanks to Jeannie Chesser for the professional spray job.
